Prefabricated Granite Slabs
Though the quality of Prefab slabs can differ from dealer to dealer, so choose your dealer and slab wisely. If possible go and pick up a slab yourself from the warehouse or yard. Prefab granite takes very less installation time as they are already cut and polished. They are prefabricated so they are easy to install in comparison to other materials. Prefab granite is not a good option for homes as they are quite prone to chipping, breaking and slabs don’t match each other.
To meet the demand of our valuable customers all the work is done under the supervision of highly experienced experts of edge polishing with the all latest machinery and techniques. The best thing you can do is EDUCATE YOURSELF as a consumer. Many consumers are not familiar with quality stone work, and even though they feel they’re saving money, they can be getting a lower quality product installed in their home. Both options allow your fabricator to make cutouts for sinks, whether they be drop-in or under-mounted. Along with prefab granite, you also can make your selection from “slab” granite. We focus on providing the best customer service experience to our customers along with competitive pricing and top quality material.
This usually results in granite pieces that are a little different in thickness and granite that has more flaws in it. The different thicknesses become a problem when you are joining them together. It is very hard to join two pieces of granite that are different thicknesses and hide it at the bullnose. Also, during the installation with prefab you may have more seams, this is due to the restricted length and depth of the the pieces. You also may see more color variation between prefab pieces which will give you a poor looking install when it is done.
At Decker Home Improvement, there are many granite specialists who are happy to answer any of your questions about granite counters in Greenville SC. This forms a very hard granite-like surface.which produces a smooth look. Third, both prefab and slab granite countertops are a snap to clean, though each type must be regularly cared for so that it maintains its appearance. Even with the limited choices, saving 50% made the decision worthwhile, and that counter is as good as new 12 years later. If you plan to use prefab granite, the first step is to determine your countertop’s dimensions.
Prefab granite is a good option if you want to cut the total cost and enjoy the luxury of granite. It takes less installation time than the custom slabs as they come already cut and finished. They are a good option for commercial projects like multi storage buildings, flats and hotels. I learned that normally when you order solid surface countertops like quartz or marble, you can get them in 2 cm or 3 cm thickness.
They simply need a cut-out for your sink and often a few cuts to fit them to the length of your counters. There will be seams at the corners, and when these are done by an experienced installer they will be thin and hardly noticeable. We offer a variety of in-stock prefabricated granite countertops at our Santa Rosa warehouse. If you get a dealer who is selling the slab at a very cheap price, then probably he must be using a slab of inferior quality. Prefab Granite is used in big projects where completing the project in a short period of time is important but quality is compromised in these projects. You can buy them at any hardware store, but don’t use the screws provided. I like to place them a hair lower than the top of the cabinet (or build-up) and then draw the top down tight with a screw into the underside of the countertop. Use as many angles as it takes to get a solid installation.
